A Jabalpur resident planning to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls walked into the collector’s workplace right here on Wednesday with Rs 25,000 in cash for fee as safety deposit whereas acquiring the nomination kind.

Vinay Chakraborty, who needs to enter the ballot fray in Jabalpur as an impartial candidate, paid Rs 25,000 as safety deposit within the denominations of Rs 10, Rs 5 and Rs 2 cash.

”I made the fee of Rs 25,000 in denominations of Rs 10, Rs 5 and Rs 2 cash,” he informed reporters.

Chakraborty mentioned there was no facility on the collector’s workplace to pay via digital or on-line mode due to this fact he paid the quantity in cash which had been accessible with him.

”I need to contest the Lok Sabha elections as an impartial candidate,” he mentioned.

Jabalpur district returning officer and collector Deepak Kumar Saxena informed reporters that the fee made in cash by the possible candidate was acquired and a receipt of the identical was given to him.

The method of submitting nominations for the primary section Lok Sabha polls began on Wednesday.
