Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Van Vihar Nationwide Park and Visakhapatnam Zoo have agreed in precept for an animal trade programme.
They’re now awaiting ultimate permission from the Central Zoo Authority (CZA). After getting the permission, Bhopalites would have the ability to see some new friends at Van Vihar.
Van Vihar had despatched the proposal to the CZA about two to 3 months in the past. Underneath the undertaking, Van Vihar will present two tigers and two leopards to Visakhapatnam Zoo and in return, Visakhapatnam Zoo will give two bison, two wolves, two hyenas and two wild cats to Van Vihar. These uncommon species would add to the wild animal depend of Van Vihar and can be a matter of enjoyment for the guests.
Anticipating permission from the CZA, Van Vihar authorities have began building of enclosures, that are in a complicated stage.
Sources stated that earlier, the Van Vihar Nationwide Park authorities tried to have an animal trade programme with Goa Zoo. Underneath this programme, the officers had been mulling to provide sloth bear to Goa Zoo and in trade, they had been specializing in getting bison. “The Goa Zoo officers visited Van Vihar, however weren’t concerned about getting a sloth bear. That’s why this initiative didn’t bear the fruits.”
It was learnt that a lot of the sloth bears at Van Vihar had been rescued from jugglers from totally different components of the state. They’re both outdated (nearly 20 years outdated) or affected by tuberculosis. The variety of wild bears can also be very low.

Van Vihar Nationwide Park discipline director Padmapriya Balakrishnan stated, ”We hope to get new animals in Van Vihar beneath the animal trade programme with Visakhapatnam Zoo. We’re ready for permission from the CZA.”
