UPenn president resigns after livid backlash to antisemitism Congress testimony


College of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill has resigned amid a livid backlash to her testimony at a congressional listening to about antisemitism on faculty campuses.

Scott Bok, the chair of UPenn’s board of trustees, introduced Ms Magill had voluntarily tendered her resignation in an announcement on Saturday.

Ms Magill sparked anger amongst alumni, college students and donors and when she declined to explicitly say that calling for the genocide of Jews would violate the Ivy League faculty’s code of conduct on bullying or harassment at a congressional listening to on antisemitism on Tuesday.

Her look alongside the presidents of Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Know-how, who additionally refused to denounce requires genocide, set off a disaster on the Ivy League faculty which noticed donors threaten to tug $100m in funding.
