The federal decide overseeing the 2020 election case in opposition to former President Donald Trump denied a request from his authorized group for permission to subpoena members of the Home Jan. 6 choose committee and others for proof in his upcoming trial.
Choose Tanya Chutkan on Monday denied Trump’s request, after his attorneys had requested the courtroom in October to approve subpoenas for data from the Nationwide Archives and Information Administration, the Home Administration Committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson, the Democratic chair of the Home Jan. 6 panel, and others. Attorneys for Trump allege there are lacking data from the now-disbanded committee that they want for pretrial preparation. However members of the committee say there isn’t a lacking materials.
Trump’s attorneys haven’t but stated whether or not they’ll attraction Chutkan’s choice.
The previous president has pleaded not responsible to 4 felony prices accusing him of attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election outcomes.
Trump’s attorneys had requested Chutkan to recuse herself from the case, however she stated she wouldn’t.
