Sydney condo constructing on hearth, resident badly injured


A person has suffered extreme burns after a fireplace broke out in a high ground unit of an condo constructing in Meadowbank in Sydney’s north this afternoon.

Preliminary studies instructed the fireplace had been triggered by an explosion within the fifth ground condo’s kitchen about 3.30pm, a NSW Police spokesman stated.

Residents in surrounding areas could see large plumes of smoke coming from the building.

Different residents residing within the constructing have been ordered to evacuate and a number of ambulances are on the scene in addition to the Careflight helicopter.

“One affected person is being handled for extreme burns to nearly all of their physique, ” a NSW Ambulance spokesman stated.

Photos posted on a area people Fb group on Monday present giant plumes of smoke billowing from the constructing situated on Angus Road close to Bay Drive.

A NSW Hearth and Rescue spokesman stated eight hearth vans had been on the constructing and firefighters had gone into the condo constructing to extinguish the fireplace.
