Standoff with distraught man ends peacefully in North Vancouver – BC


RCMP in North Vancouver say a standoff with a distraught man that prompted an enormous police presence was concluded peacefully on Friday.

RCMP had been known as to the 200 block of East 18th Road in Central Lonsdale round 8:15 a.m., to experiences of a “man performing erratically and brandishing a weapon” outdoors a house.

When officers arrived, the person barricaded himself inside the house and refused to cooperate, RCMP mentioned in a media launch.

Mounties known as within the Built-in Emergency Response Group and disaster negotiators, and round 2 p.m. police mentioned the person was “safely eliminated” from the house and transported to hospital.

There have been no experiences of accidents, and police mentioned there was no wider threat to the general public.
