Mumbai: A diamond dealer with a three-decade profession collaborating with varied sellers throughout India is accused of taking 5 valuable stones valued at ₹63.53 lakh from a seller and never paying him.
In accordance with police, the complainant, Narendra Jain, a diamond businessman from Bhulabhai Desai Street, runs AuraCreation, an organization in BKC. The accused, Arvind Jain, a diamond agent from Oshiwara in Andheri (West), has labored throughout India in cities like Agra, Jaipur, Kanpur, and Mumbai for nearly 30 years, collaborating with quite a few sellers.
Diamond service provider was duped by agent
On October 5, Arvind visited Narendra’s firm and knowledgeable him {that a} buyer was keen on buying diamonds. Arvind requested the diamonds and warranted Narendra that the remaining stones could be returned, together with cash, by October 30. Believing him, Narendra gave him 138.28 carats of 5 diamonds value ₹63,53,477 lakh.
Criticism filed after accused absconds mysteriously
After October 30, Narendra tried to contact Arvind, however the latter prevented him. Rising suspicious, Narendra performed an enquiry and found that Arvind had offered his workplace, situated in BKC, 10 days beforehand and fled.
Subsequently, Narendra filed an FIR towards Arvind below Sections 406 (felony breach of belief), 409 (felony breach of belief by agent) and 420 (dishonest and dishonestly) of the Indian Penal Code at BKC police station on December 11.
