TalkTV host Piers Morgan has hit out at former Conservative Prime Minister Liz Truss following the discharge of her resignation honours record. The record of names has led to accusations of “cronyism”, because the ex-PM awarded new peerages to a Tory donor, her former deputy chief of employees and one of many lead architects of Brexit.
Taking to X, the social media platform previously referred to as Twitter, Morgan blasted Truss in view of his 8.7 million followers. He wrote: “The Liz Truss honours record… what a laughable obscenity.
“Britain’s worst ever Prime Minister whose disastrous 44-day tenure tanked the nation’s financial system, will get to ‘reward’ her cronies with gongs & titles. Simply absurd.” (sic)
The previous Good Morning Britain host’s tweet was met with an exasperated response, as many followers agreed that Truss mustn’t have been “rewarded” with such an honour.
“44 days? Lmao wow, I wouldn’t be capable of present my face after that,” Kirby wrote. Whereas Andrew joked: “I believed probation in a job was often 3 months. How come she will get to create an honours record when she clearly didn’t go it.” (sic)

Sonam mirrored: “I suppose it is a reminder that politics generally is a fairly unusual and unpredictable beast, and that even essentially the most questionable choices can typically be par for the course.”
