The Mahalaxmi temple on Bhulabhai Desai Highway celebrated its annual Annakut ritual.
Annakut means a mountain of meals and is a ritual at temples and spiritual celebrations.
The Mahalaxmi temple observes this ritual on ‘Tripurari Poornima’ or Kartik Poornima, the primary full moon day after the Diwali pageant.
The meals was ready within the temple premises and supplied to the deity between 12.30pm and 5pm.
After the night prayers or aarti, the meals was distributed to devotees as prasad.
A chappan bhog or 56 dishes have been supplied as naivedya to the goddess after which was distributed to devotees.
Completely different temples observe the Annakut ritual on completely different days.
