“It’s actually been like a ‘pinch me’ second. I really feel like I can’t even imagine we’re really right here and on the ice as a workforce and making historical past,” stated Emerance Maschmeyer, a 29-year-old goaltender from Bruderheim, Alta., and a nationwide workforce member with gold medals from the 2022 Olympics and the 2021 world girls’s hockey championship.

PWHL coaching camps opened Wednesday, bringing 184 gamers, coaches and assist employees collectively for the primary time within the six cities.

Remaining rosters will likely be set Dec. 11 and will likely be capped at 23, plus two reserve gamers.

The Ottawa franchise is anticipated to begin its 24-game schedule someday round Jan. 1
