Akhu Chingangbam was kidnapped and later launched by unidentified gunmen in Imphal

Famend Manipuri singer and lyricist Akhu Chingangbam was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from his dwelling in Imphal on Friday, his household stated.
The vocalist of the band Imphal Talkies was later launched unhurt, round 20 km away from his home.
”Just a few armed males barged into Chingangbam’s dwelling in Khurai on Friday morning and took him to a spot round 20 km away,” a relative of the singer stated.
The unidentified gunmen launched him later unhurt at that location in Imphal West district. Police have confirmed the incident, however didn’t give particulars.
”We have now obtained data that this individual (Chingangbam) was kidnapped by unidentified individuals. And later, we obtained data that he has been launched unhurt,” a police officer stated.
