Mali’s army rulers have introduced the cancellation of a 2015 peace cope with separatist rebels after months of combating within the West African nation.

Army authorities mentioned late on Thursday that the so-called Algiers Accord had ended with “fast impact” as a result of different signatories not maintaining their commitments and hostility by chief mediator Algeria.

In a speech broadcast on state tv, the army authorities spokesperson Colonel Abdoulaye Maiga mentioned there had been an “rising variety of unfriendly acts, cases of hostility and interference in Mali’s inner affairs” by Algiers.

Algeria had led efforts to revive peace to Mali after the signing of the so-called Algiers Accord between Bamako and armed teams predominantly made up of the semi-nomadic Tuareg ethnic group.
