Kerala Chief Minister Pays Last Respects To Student Killed In Campus Stampede

Kozhikode, Kerala:

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday paid his final respects to Sara Thomas, the coed who died in a stampede throughout a tech-fest at Cochin College of Science and Expertise (CUSAT) in Kochi on Saturday.

Sara’s physique had been dropped at Alphonsa Faculty Thamarassery the place CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his colleagues in ministry paid their final respects.

The stampede occurred throughout a music tech pageant on Saturday night. The 4 individuals who died had been recognized as Athul Thambi, native of Koothatukulam; Ann Ruftha from North Paravur; Sara Thomas from Thamarraserry; and Alwin Thaikattusherry. All three are second-year college students apart from Alwin, who shouldn’t be a pupil at CUSAT.

In accordance with the police, 16 injured folks have been discharged from the hospital thus far. Ministers P Rajeev and R Bindu visited the positioning of the incident on Sunday morning.

Kerala’s Larger Training Minister, R Bindu directed the principal secretary of upper schooling and the varsity’s vice chancellor to submit their inquiry reviews on the incident.

”This occurred round 6.50 p.m. After I arrived right here, three to 4 college students had been taken to the hospital. It was drizzling. College students rushed in by way of the one entrance and as a result of steep steps, they fell over one another, resulting in a stampede,” Jalsan, an eyewitness to the entire scenario on the college, mentioned.
