The supermodel was joined by daughter Lila for what amounted to a uncommon public look collectively after posing individually on the annual ceremony. 

Choosing a black night costume with a daring thigh-high break up,  Kate, 49 ensured she caught the attention as she made her approach in direction of a ready automobile outdoors London’s Royal Albert Corridor. 

In the meantime Lila, 21, wore a sheer metallic slip costume paying homage to her mom’s 1993 Liza Bruce costume, full with black underwear.

That includes cut-out sections and thins straps, the silver robe, by Nensi Dojaka, was accomplished with a pleated bra high and low again.

Opting for a black evening dress with a daring thigh-high split, Kate ensured she caught the eye on Monday evening

Lila elevated her height with some strappy black heels and accessorised with gold earrings, borrowed from Kate.

To complete her Nineties-inspired outfit, she opted for a very subtle makeup look and pulled her hair back into a bun.

Speaking to British Vogue ahead of the event, Lila explained: ’I love to feel elegant, chic and sexy, and Nensi’s designs are the perfect balance of all of these vibes, so I’m feeling confident.’

’For the hair, I wanted something effortless – I found a reference on Pinterest of my mum with a wispy bun for a Donna Karan show in 1993.’

Designer Nensi added: ’The inspiration for this look came from the iconic Liza Bruce sheer slip dress worn by Kate in 1993. Lila is the perfect example of a young woman unafraid to set her own rules.’

During Monday’s ceremony Valentino Garavani was recognised with the Outstanding Achievement award, make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury with the Special Recognition Award, and the late Joe Casely-Hayford with a posthumous special recognition award.

Elsewhere South Londoner Kai Isaiah Jamal was nominated for the model of the year gong along with the likes of Paloma Elsesser and Alton Mason.  

The event serves as the main fundraiser for the BFC Foundation. which supports the future growth and success of the British fashion industry through its focus on education, grant-giving, and business mentoring.

The BFC also returned to gender-based design awards for the first time since the pandemic, splitting the best British designers into menswear and womenswear categories. 

On Friday, it was revealed that the British singer Sam Smith will accept the Cultural Innovator Award on stage, 

Guests have previously included Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa, with Bella Hadid winning model of the year in 2022. 

Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, said: ’It is imperative the awards are reflective of our incredibly multifaceted industry and its brands and creatives.’
