Thirty-four-year-old Gabriel Attal turned France’s youngest prime minister and first brazenly homosexual head of presidency when he was appointed on Tuesday by President Emmanuel Macron.
The shakeup seems designed to reinvigorate Macron’s centrist authorities forward of European Parliament elections within the spring, to shore up his legacy and, doubtlessly, to domesticate a successor. Macron wrote on X, previously Twitter, “I do know I can rely in your vitality and your dedication to implement the rearmament and regeneration venture that I’ve introduced.” Attal stated in a tweet that he was honored and would work “with energy, humility and with out taboos in service of the French individuals.”
