Guna (Madhya Pradesh): Failing to get married even after wishing upon it a number of occasions, a miscreant uprooted the ’Shivling’ from the temple and threw it outdoors, police stated on Saturday.

SDOP Vivek Asthana stated that they arrested accused Gyarsa Prajjapati, 40, who used to reside in a crematorium floor at Bamori village of Guna district. On January 31 night time, the accused desecrated a temple of Lord Shiva in Bamori. The accused uprooted the ’Shivling’ from the temple and threw it outdoors.

Enraged over the incident, the locals staged a ’chakka jam’ on the principle sq. of the city and demanded rapid arrest of the culprits, he stated.

An FIR has been registered towards five-six unidentified individuals and a probe is on into the incident, the official added.

As pressure gripped Bamori, Guna SP Sanjeev Kumar Singh shaped a particular group for investigation. Through the investigation, it was revealed that the accused usually sleeps close to the temple. None of his shut relations reside there. The accused can be hooked on ingesting alcohol and ganja. He was not seen because the incident. On this foundation, he was on the high of the suspect checklist.

Police detained him and through interrogation, the accused advised the police that he vandalised the temple. He stated that even after praying to God a number of occasions, he was not getting married.

On the night time of January 31, he drank an excessive amount of alcohol. He obtained indignant whereas drunk. At round 2 am, he picked up stones mendacity outdoors the temple and broken the Lord Shiva and Nandi idols.
