The earthquake occurred at 23:29 Jakarta time (1629 GMT) on Saturday with its epicentre situated 151 km southwest of Garut Regency and a depth of 10 km, the company stated.

The tremors of the quake have been additionally felt in close by Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and the close by province of Banten, in addition to the provinces of Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java, it stated.

In West Java province, the depth of the quake was felt at IV MMI (Modified Mercally Depth) in Sukabumi city and Tasikmalaya city, and III to IV MMI in Bandung metropolis, the capital of West Java province, the company stated.
