The boss of Alcoa Australia, Matt Reed, has been promoted to guide the US miner’s world operations from his Perth base after simply seven months with the aluminium specialist.
Reed took cost of Alcoa’s WA bauxite mines and alumina refineries and a Victorian aluminium smelter in June after two years operating the operations of South Australian miner Oz Minerals, which BHP took over this 12 months.
On Thursday, Alcoa introduced Reed would develop into its chief operations officer and an government vice chairman from January 1, 2024.
