Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury apologises to TMC MP Derek O’Brien for calling him a ‘foreigner’



The Congress’ chief within the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Friday apologised to Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien for referring to him as a “foreigner”. He mentioned that he made the comment inadvertently.

On Thursday, Chowdhury was requested by reporters to reply to O’Brien’s assertion blaming him for seat-sharing negotiations between the Congress and Trinamool Congress failing in West Bengal. To this, he had mentioned: “He’s a foreigner, he is aware of a variety of issues. Ask him.”

O’Brien had accused Chowdhury of working on the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Get together and foiling any alliance between the Congress and Trinamool Congress, PTI reported.

“[There are] three causes for the alliance not working in Bengal,” O’Brien instructed reporters in Delhi earlier on Thursday. “Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.”

On Wednesday, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee introduced that her social gathering would struggle elections alone on all 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal.

The Trinamool Congress is part of the INDIA Alliance, an amalgamation of 28 Opposition events that got here collectively in July with the goal of defeating the ruling Bharatiya Janata Get together within the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
