China’s coast guard has fired water at a Philippine boat within the disputed territory of the South China Sea.
Earlier, the Philippines accused China of “harmful manoeuvres” after their coast guard vessels collided within the space on Tuesday.
The Philippine Coast Guard mentioned it was close to the Second Thomas Shoal – identified in Chinese language because the Ren’ai Jiao – when the incident occurred.
In a put up on Twitter, a Philippines official mentioned its vessel suffered “minor structural injury”.
He shared footage displaying the vessels hitting then scraping towards one another.
Chinese language state media reported that the China Coast Guard “lawfully took measures towards a Philippines vessel”.
