Fee to unblock over €100B in EU funds for Poland – POLITICO


The announcement comes amid efforts from Poland’s newly elected authorities, which has sought to restore its relationship with Brussels underneath pro-European Prime Minister Donald Tusk, to revive the rule of regulation within the nation.

At a gathering of European affairs ministers in Brussels earlier this week, Poland’s Justice Minister Adam Bodnar unveiled an ”motion plan” aiming to finish a long-standing rule of regulation dispute between the EU and Warsaw that began underneath the earlier nationalist Regulation and Justice (PiS) authorities.

The plan is designed to ”restore constitutional order in Poland and remedy the rule-of-law disaster,” Bodnar advised POLITICO’s Brussels Playbook.

Von der Leyen on Friday mentioned the plan was ”a robust assertion,” and hailed the Tusk authorities’s push to revive the independence of the judiciary.

”It’s a clear roadmap for Poland and your efforts are decisive,” the Fee president advised Tusk, who was additionally current on the joint press convention, together with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.
