Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has been given Z+ safety by Centre after a faceoff with pupil activists. Earlier right now, Governor Khan confronted members of the CPI(M)-linked College students Federation of India (SFI) in Kollam district, about 40 km from state capital Thiruvananthapuram, as they staged a black flag protest towards him.

The incident befell as Governor Khan, en path to attend a program, ordered his automobile to cease when he noticed the SFI protestors on the roadside.
Stepping out of his automobile, Governor Khan walked in direction of the agitating college students, shouting ”aao” (come) at them. The Governor has accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of ”selling lawlessness within the state” and demanded motion towards the protestors.
The Governor’s actions led to a two-hour standoff, throughout which he sat on the roadside, expressing his dissatisfaction with the response of the authorities.
Governor Khan claimed that he had not staged a protest however was ready for the police to offer him with a duplicate of the First Info Report (FIR) following his demand for motion towards the SFI activists affiliated with the CPI(M). The police finally offered a duplicate of an FIR towards 17 SFI activists underneath non-bailable provisions, which led to the Governor leaving the scene.
Addressing reporters after the incident, Governor Khan continued his criticism of Chief Minister Vijayan, alleging that he was instructing the police to guard people with legal instances pending towards them.
”It’s him who’s giving route to the police to offer protection to these lawbreakers towards whom, together with the state president of the organisation (SFI) many legal instances are pending within the courts,” Governor Khan stated, as quoted by information company PTI.
The continuing battle between Governor Khan and the Left authorities has been marked by disagreements over varied points, together with the functioning of universities within the state and the Governor’s refusal to signal sure payments handed by the meeting.
