British musician Denny Laine, a co-founding member of the rock bands The Moody Blues and Wings, died on Tuesday on the age of 79.
“My darling husband handed away peacefully early this morning,” Laine’s spouse, Elizabeth Hines, wrote in an Instagram publish on Tuesday. “I used to be at his bedside, holding his hand as I performed his favourite Christmas songs for him.”
“He’s been singing Christmas songs the previous few weeks and I continued to play Christmas songs whereas he’s been in ICU on a ventilator this previous week,” Hines continued.
Laine’s spouse went on to reveal that her husband died after a battle with interstitial lung illness.
“He and I each believed he would overcome his well being setbacks and return to the rehabilitation middle and finally house. Sadly, his lung illness, Interstitial Lung Illness (ILD), is unpredictable and aggressive; every an infection weakened and broken his lungs,” she mentioned.
