Police are trying to find 4 individuals who used hammers Sunday to smash show instances and snatch jewellery and different luxurious items at a mall close to the Santa Anita racetrack — a brazen theft that shook crowds of vacation consumers.
“There was a smash-and-grab,” stated Arcadia Police Lt. Tony Juarez.
Arcadia police stated the theft was reported simply earlier than 1 p.m. at Rebag, a high-end consignment retailer on the Retailers at Santa Anita. 4 males carrying blue hoodies, sweatpants and masks entered the shop and used hammers to interrupt glass instances and steal watches and purses, police stated.
The group then fled in a white Infiniti sedan, in line with an announcement by the Arcadia Police Division.
On social media, posters reported consumers working for canopy and hiding in shops, with some claiming to have heard gunshots. Police later confirmed the realm was clear.
“Every thing is OK and the whole lot is protected now,” stated a mall safety official, who declined to provide his identify.
