9 individuals have been hospitalized after round 200 inmates rushed correction officers at a Southern California jail.
In accordance with the California Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, eight corrections officers and an incarcerated man have been injured throughout the violent rush at Ironwood State Jail in Blythe, California.
Authorities mentioned that officers have been escorting an inmate throughout the jail for a contraband investigation ”roughly 200 incarcerated individuals, on the yard, rushed towards the officers, attacking them with fists and rocks.”
After capturing a rifle warning spherical, officers used ”chemical brokers and non-lethal affect rounds” to get the prisoner below management.

Eight workers members and one inmate have been handled at a neighborhood hospital and later returned to the jail, officers mentioned.

Authorities didn’t instantly share the extent of their accidents.
Ironwood, a minimum-medium safety facility within the desert east of Los Angeles, opened in 1994 and homes about 2,500 male inmates.
